What’s the Ye Mystic Krewe of Neptune all about?

The first Krewes were established more than 300 years ago in Mobile, Alabama to celebrate Mardi Gras. Over 100 years ago Tampa's Krewe of Gasparilla was formed and began producing the annual Gasparilla celebration, and now, almost a hundred Krewes exist in the Tampa Bay area. In today's stressful business environment the Krewe of Neptune provides an opportunity to relax, party and socialize with friends. Whether it's a costume party or black tie affair, you and your spouse or significant other will enjoy the company of others in a wide variety of fun activities every month. It does not take long to develop a strong sense of camaraderie and fellowship in the Krewe - because we are a stimulating group of friendly people.

Weeki Wachee River Weekend
Friday & Saturday, June 6th - 7th

The annual YMKN Weeki Wachee River invasion is almost here!  After much hard work, XO Mike Wyckoff and his committee have laid out the following plans:

Friday, June 6th
Relaxing, laid back night at Cherie & Mike's river house.  Mike & Cherie have graciously offered to open up their river front home to us.  It provides a great spot to watch the sunset on the river and a hot grille to cook your dinner.  The Krewe will provide beer, wine, and soda.  You need to bring "everything else" (food, games, lawn chairs, and pistachio's to throw at people from the upper deck).

Saturday, June 6th
Get up early!  You must be at the river by 9:00am for our 9:30 launch.  DO NOT BRING ALCOHOL with you on the river, the sheriff patrols heavily on weekends and they are looking hard for beer drinkers to help fill the city coffers.  Just don't do it, you will be fined if you do.
  • 9:30am - 12:30pm:  Enjoy the beautiful, scenic Weeki Wachee river from your kayak or canoe.
  • 12:30pm - 2:00pm:  Ride back to the cars, take a nap, then head to Mikes for lunch and party.
  • 2:00pm - ???:  Party at Cherie & Mike's including delicious  lunch with beer, wine, soda and a whole lot more.
